I need advice for straightening/protecting/curli... my hair?

i straighten my hair 5days a week for school bc if i dont it will be all ugly and wavy. not the pretty wavy, UGLY wavy like all going different directions and frizzing. i use suave heat protection (comes in orange spray bottle) and suave frizzcontrol (comes in orange tube). so these products really work? i use a remington wet2straight straightener. what can i do to eliminate frizz without buying expensive products? any natural treatments?

i have hair that goes about 4 inches below my shoulders. what other hair styles can i do that dont require alot of time?

how cani make my hair stay soft and curly without using hairspray that will make it hard and crunchy?

Shampoo and condition your hair very well and brush with your wide toothed comb and/or brush. Make sure there are no knots!

Apply a small amount of conditioner and anti-frizz serum (anti-frizz serum is optional). Rub the products in very well until you can't see them in your hair anymore.

If your hair is naturally wavy let it air dry or blow dry your hair with a comb using anti-frizz serum.

Turn on the curling iron or curling irons that you plan to use.*

While the curling irons are warming up, separate your hair into three sections by pulling two sections to each side of your face leaving the third section to be the back.

Clip up two of the sections, leaving one down. Curl the first section, starting toward the back of your head and working your way to the front. When you put your hair in the curling iron it should look like a spring that is coiled around the curling iron. If you have two different sizes of curling irons use the larger one to curl the bottom layer of your hair and the smaller one to curl the top.

Spray that section with your hairspray and gently clip it away from the rest.

When you finish all of the sections, take out any clips or scrunchies you have holding the section and spray your hair all over with hairspray one more time.

Tips:

* Make sure you tussle your hair throughout the day to give it more body with a relaxed look to it yet it looks bouncy.

* don't make the curling iron go all the way up to your head or it will look too curly

* Use maximum hold hair spray to keep your style in all day.

wow..

it sounds like i have the same hair as you.

i use pantene pro-style to protect my hair from straightening it because i straighten my hair 5 times a week too

The pantene says it makes your hair smooth and helps the frizz go away

First, don't ever ever straighten your hair when it's wet. That's about the worst thing you can do to it. Blow dry straight with a brush.

I use Aveda or Pureology gloss products, as well as, Aveda straightening lotion - that you apply when the hair is still wet. With the gloss products you spray or pump into hair one section at a time, then straighten that section.

They work really well to control frizz and straighten. You should also use good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

Cheap products don't do the same thing that expensive ones do - price usually equals quality. If you are really concerned, I'd bite the bullet and get some nice products. Also, you use a LOT less per application with the expensive stuff - so it lasts a long long time.

Also, Pantene and Herbal Essences - along with other brands - are terrible for your hair. They coat your hair with a waxy substance which makes it 'feel' soft, but doesn't actually do anything to repair the hair. Ask any hair stylist.
