Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

I dont know but lately everyone seems to be straightening their hair! I mean everywhere i go , the mall , everywhere . Everyone has their hair done pin straight. I mean yeah , it probobly is the trend now but c'mon .... almost every girl in my school straightens their hair . I have naturally curly hair and i keep it curly but i feel like noone wants to embrace or show off their curls anymore these days....Its almost like curly hair is "out" now or doesnt look nice anymore or something. It kinda bothers me. Just my opinion...What do you think?

I think people straighten their hair because it shows off shine and health of hair better, and many people who have curly hair hate the frizz that comes with it, or just want something completely different than they are used to. But I do think that they should embrace their curl. My friend hand a beautiful head of curly hair and started straightening it this year when we came to high school, I can;t even remember what it looked like curly!

well for me, i have wavy hair naturally but its easier just to straighten it then curl it the way i want. thats why i straighten mine all the time. i dont know about other people though.

If i had nice curly hair, i would leave it. but lots of people arent lucky enough to have curly hair that looks good, so they straighten it :)

Because straight hair is easier to tame. I love curly hair because it's cuter and just... cute! Some people do it for change ups, or because they don't like it. I think its not about embracing it really. Some people just like to change up or some people just have to be seen with straight hair to be accepted. Just different reasons you know?

you're absolutely right. I totally agree. I have naturally curly hair, and it's hard to manage but i try the best I can to embrace it, because that's what god's given me. It bothers me that everyone straightens their hair and it's always perfect and pin-straight. I hate it. But in the end, we come out more beautiful than everyone else, because if there are a million girls with pin straigh hair, of course everyone's gonna be looking at that one girl with curly, maybe not PERFECT, but not like everyone else's, hair.

It's much MUCH harder dealing with cury hair. It's not that it it is 'out' it's just a pain that no one wants to deal with, especially at 7:30 in the morning, fumbling around getting ready for school. Curls are a big thing with celebrities who have stylists to do it for them and make their curls look nice, while they sleep in the chair.

I have naturally SUPER curly hair. Sure, I can make it look nice, but there always that worry of having the wind mess it up, of if a curl broke the intense serum I plaster onto it and is no rebelling and making me look like a unicorn or something. Straight hair- just put it in a ponytail and go. If it looks slightly messy- hey you still look good, that's in. The same can't be said for messy curly hair.

I don't know why everyone is straightening their hair, but my hair is neither curly nor straight, and i don't like the way it looks when i do nothing to it. It is easier for me to straighten it than curling it, so most of the time i wear it straight.

now a daz straight hair has bcum everyone's style statement. i prefer straight hair for only spl occasions just for a change as my hair is wavy,but i keep my natural wavy hair dialy.

everone's hair is poofy or frizzy without straightening it so they straighten it. believe it!! i straighten a lot too. it's probably the easiest thing you could do to your hair if not the messy bun or the pony tail.

curling takes too long, and the straightening iron is just there...you don't need to have special skills to use it. just glide it down your hair and viola! perfect hair that is so easy!!
