and if so... how did it change your hair?
Has anyone ever used that home hair-straightening kit?
My blond and very curly-haired daughter wanted nothing more than to straighten her hair. We used two boxes of store-bought straightener and saw ZERO results. Later I took her to a salon, they had a specialist who works with ethnically curly hair--she did it again, and it sort of worked, but she still had to straighten her hair every day. Within a week we couldn't tell she had ever had it straightened.
I guess they must work for some people, but we have thick, heavy, curly hair. We've never used it since.
As far as hot-iron straighteners, I have bought some that cost as much as $100.00 for my daughter. She keeps going back to the$20.00 Revlon one we got at Walmart. It is her favorite. And she should know!

I have, it just straightens your hair and makes it more manageable. You do have to be careful, not to overprocess your hair or it'll cause breakage. There are so many hair straightening perms out there.

I've never tried the home straightening kit, but I did get it professionally done in the salon before. And my suggestion for that is DO NOT DO IT! It ruined my hair, it dried it out, and it basically looked like crap. It didn't really help it either. It relaxes the curl a little bit but you still have to blow dry it straight or go over it with an iron for a pin straight result. Hair typically grows pretty fast so you start to see roots as you would if you ever dyed your hair. The roots come in really tight curls, and looks absolutely ridiculous, because you will have a more relaxed curl at the bottom and tight curls at crown of your head. I really think you shouldn't get it done, because it's so damaging for your hair and you will have to keep up with it at least every month or so.

If it is a relaxer don't do it it could fry your hair. it did that to me and it took years to grow it out. take it from me. have it done professionally. the Ionic straiting system worked wonders on my hair. but it was expensive and it took forever. but it was so worth it
