Need help with straightening my hair! please!!?

First, after you wash your hair, part your hair and flip your head upside down and blow-dry your roots and hair until they're ALMOST dry. (You may want to flip back up several times to make sur the part is still there.) Then get out your straightener and set on a high setting. If you straighten at a low heat, it won't work because it's not hot enough ... not to sound all snobby, but trust me, I asked my salonist. Straighten FROM THE ROOTS. Don't start at the ends, and PRESS HARD and go a little slowly, but don't stay in one place for a long time; otherwise, your hair will burn. If you're scared of frizzing, try John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Serum, which is this really neat thing that keeps your hair from poofing all over the place. You can buy it at CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid, etc. (Look at the Source part below for a link to see what it looks like, a description of how it works, etc.)

Good luck with your hair! Hope I helped ... practice makes perfect, and I bet that in a month or even a few weeks you'll get the hang of it. But for now, be patient and practice! (Don't worry. When I started out, my hair looked bad too. But now I get a bunch of compliments on it!)

when you blow dry your hair, you shoud texterize in some mousse at your part line roots and then blow dry to add volume and then straighten. Try using a straightening cream or shampoo and conditioner when you shower to control the wavy dilemma. :D

The best way to straighten your hair is to use some kind of pre straightening creme (I use an anti frizz one by sunsilk), when the hair is dry, straighten it in small sections using a good quality straightener (I use a Paul Brown, its awesome) then after that apply a straightening serum, I use loreal control liss anti frizz serum, and my hair stays straight until I have to wash it. Normally my hair is quite curly!

Get a straightener with heat adjusting settings and keep it on a lower one, it sounds like you have thinner hair and thats why it gets so flat (I have thin hair too and when its too hot for some reason it straightens funny). The only way to really keep it straight is this awesome spray by matrix in an orange bottle, you just spray it on the sections you are about to straighten, straighten them and its like a flat iron hairspray (not sticky though), doesnt move all night! I think you can buy it at the walmart hair cut place.

I had the same problem girl! Try using a volumizing spray (John Freda is exellent and your getting your moneys worth) and a balm such as herbel essences designed to keep hair straight (I beleive its the one in the purple bottle). Then try straightening your hair and it should turn out just the way you want it to. Also, when straightening your hair, try to pull the straightener upwards at the roots, then down afterwards just to keep it from going really flat. I really hope this helps and good luck!
