If you do straighten your hair everyday how can you take care of it properly. Is there any kind of conditoners or shampoos to use? I got a CHI straightener, so i'm new to straightening. I really want to take care of my hair, i dont want to damage it alot. I also have the chi protecter spray but i dont know how to use it. Do you spray in your hands then rub in in you hair?

And does anyone know where you can buy long clips to pin hair up when doing it?

Yes, it is damaging. It blisters your hair and creates split ends. The heat from the straightner takes the moisture out of your hair, creating the split ends. My salon told me to use Pantene Pro-V shampoo and conditioner, it helps deep condition your hair and keeps it in good shape. You spray the spray in your hair, all the way down your strands. A good way to straighten the back of your hair is have two mirrors against each other to look at the back.
If you get your hair trimmed every 4-8, your hair stays healthy no matter how much you straighten it, but it still damages your hair every time.
They have long clips at Wal-Mart in the section with shampoo and mirrors.
By the way, good straightner choice. Chi works well.

sadly yes, that is because the heat from the straightener damages and dries you hair out, making it more fragile and then u can get split ends easier and faster..sorry

i try not to straighten my hair everyday because then it gets fried. before straightening, try spraying a heat protecting spray or cream. i have the l'oreal heat protection in the pink bottle. as for pinning hair up, get a huge clip and pin your hair in sections it works really well. idk what the chi protector spray is but if it is "spray" then you should spray it into your hair. not too close though. and i use pantene pro-v smooth and sleek. idk if it necessarily makes your hair straighter but it sure is smoother. and it smells good too. if you want professional help, ask your hair dresser the next time you get a hair cut on how to maintain healthy hair while straightening. these are just some things i do. hope this helps.

use a hair protecting spray, such as miracle mist or graham webb soft finish spray. these *help* protect your hair from damaging heat and also can activate conditioners to keep hair looking soft.
i full out straighten mine after i wash it, which is every few days. if you wash your hair that you straighten too much, it will wash out all the natural oils your hair has to keep it soft. just don't let it get greasy. i touch up my hair at least every morning.

You can straighten your hair with it every day and just stick to your normal shampoo and conditiner, it doesn't matter

Yes it is bad becuase the heat weakens your hair and may cause it to fall . Trust me my hair was past my shoulders and now my hair is really short . When i finally went to my beautician she told me in order to get my hair to grow back i had to cut alot of the damaged hair out. Maybe you can straighten it every other day but that is still bad . At night wrap your hair with a silk wrap. As for the clips go to the beauty supply store.

I straightem my hair everyday i use a straightner thats heat resistant and has aloe in it also i deep condition my hair every couple of months you know where they put you under a heated dryer? It works great!

for best results, i....
[1] run the cream through my hair...dont apply at the roots though...
[2] blow dry the cream and use a brush to disentangle any messy hair
[3] then straighten it with the hair straightener
[4] style it then top it off with Tressemme Styling spray (appx $3.00)
[5] .......or if ur just going to leave it down, use the John Frieda Frizz-Ease hair serume (appx $6.00) and run it evenly through ur hair for texture and pretty glossy hair (avoid the roots)

Buy shampoos and conditioners for damaged hair. And condition your har every other day. As for the heat protector, spray it in dry hair, of course! Don't spray it on your hands. First turn your hair upside down and just about 3 sprits all over, and hten right side up and 3 more sprays. Then, use a regular clip (you don't have to use one of those smlall clips. I jsut use a regular clip for putting hair up. put your hair up, and leave some down. Then, again spray your hair just to make sure you got it all "protected." Spray after each time you let down a section of your hair.
Oh, and I'm probably gonig ot straighten my hair every other day. I'm just not gonig to wash it every other day, and when i wake up in hte morning, just a few touch-ups.
