Permenant straightening hair?

When the people permenently straighten your hair, what do they do step by step? I heard they use chemicals.... is it bad for your hair? Thanks!

There's the straightening that African type hair uses and then there is the Japanese straightening method. Both use chemicals.

i just use a straightener that i got from the store but it dosent work very goo. cause it just dries out your hair.

Okay they do use chemicals see it is very very exspensive first of all. second It drys and ruins your hair every time you get it done. You cant just get it donw once cause it will run off and your hair will go back to its original ways. And last but not least it will mess up your hair forever and their really isnt a way to fix it.

I just use a straightening iron and do it by myself. It takes a little extra time, but it doesn't do any harm to your hair unless you accidentally burn it.

It is easy to get straight hair........first wet your hand .........then stick your finger in a 220 volt outlet!.......Presto!!! straight hair!!!! ( just kidding, kids don't try this at home!)
