Not sure if your meaning to use while blow drying or using a chemical...but I too have very curly hair and have used chemical straightners all my life...it's the same thing as a perm solution only you dont use the curlers, you comb it thru your hair, after paying for about 4 of these I startes using the at home treatments, just be sure to use a good conditioner aferwards....

What we use is called a Lye relaxer. If you are refering to the cream like stuff. We can also use a regular perming lotion for knocking alot of the curl out and still leaving some soft body in the hair. Relaxers are used for very coarse or resistant hair. Hope that helped you.
