when i straighten my hair, it looks kind of course and its a little poofy, how can i straighten it and it'll look sleek and shiny and straight

Straighteners arent suppose to leave your hair poofy. Maybe buy a better one. Try adding heat protectent(sp?)

I have naturally curly hair like really really curly hair and sometimes when I straighten it, it gets course and kind of poofy. i just started using this stuff its kind of like the product bed head and its called crazy sleek. it comes in like a orange spray bottle and it really makes my hair smooth and nice

this used to happen to me. try taking longer to straighten it, that helped for me. when you are pulling the straightener down the hair, do it slower. thats what stopped mine doing that. now i have a better hair straightener, if that doesnt help get a new straightener. i would recommend a GHD straightener, i have that one now. it keeps your hair shiny and smooth. good luck

go to your local sallon and they will have about a trillion different straughtening serums you can choose from. they are pricey but are well woth it. make sier you get something that protect your hair as well b/c straightening will do a number on it!

oh that is so sexy to have a guy have that haircut. just make sure you get at the root of your hair with the straightener. and put alittle shine mist on it (( like vo5 products )) after your done. but not too much.
dont worry i started straightening my hair at 12 ys old and it looked like what your describing. but after awhile of doing it i got Really Good!!!
so keep trying ill get it

I'm hispanic and have curly thick hair. After using SO many products I found oil sheen and a flat iron called Gold N' Hot works miracles. Everyone thinks my hair is naturally straight. I towel dry my hair, spray oil sheen, let it dry naturally, then use the flat iron in sections. The end result is beautiful. African american products are made to protect hair with substantial use of heat. Just make sure to use it (the oil sheen) sparingly if you have oily hair.
