Straightening hair damage?

im a male with longish hair,

I've been straightening my hair without using any protective product every day for about a year or so...

now Ive started to notice that my hair is thinning and it is less thick than it used to be. i got it cut short last week and stopped blowdrying completely.

is it possible that what ive been doing to my hair caused it to thin and fall? if so, is it permanent?

Please, advice me on this, thanks.

Straightening hair damage?

Yes by straightening it every day, that is what caused the damage. And since you cut it and stopped straightening it, it will return back to it's normal state. no worries hun! and just try using a protective spray when you do straighten it, it will help protect it from the damage.

Straightening hair damage?

it's not permanent. You should keep away from th hair dryer and straighteners for as long as possible. Keep regular appointments to get rid of split ends, eat and drink right and your hair should be back to normal in a matter of months :)

Straightening hair damage?

Yes it is possible. My friend has a tiny bald spot for straighting her hair so much. I recommend you using a thermal protecter.

It will damage your hair less then if you didn't do anything to it before straighting it

Straightening hair damage?

yes it will help.

Straightening hair damage?

yes, your hair is so damaged from being burned with a flat iron repeatedly, that it is breaking out. You done the right thing by shaving and starting all over. Good thing you are a man and can do this. Let your hair grow back in without messing with it this time. It doesn't matter if you use products with a flat iron if you use it every day. It's only a product, these irons are very hot and can damage your hair. No product can stand up to this kind of treatment. Treat your hair like you would your skin since it is just like your skin and can be burned. If you leave your hair alone and let it just grow in this time, I promise, you will have beautiful hair. The kind that is soft and touchable that all women love. Nothing is nicer than hair that has been well taken care of.
