Straightening my hair help?

I hardly ever straighten my hair, but when i do i don't get the look i desire, my hair just looks frizzy and lifeless with no shine...even though i can get it straight. How comes? I use straightening cremes and protectors, so what is wrong with me? How comes other girls get their hair dead straight with a straightener and not me? My straightener is a babyliss one which is about 1-2 years old.

my hair gets frizzy too, but i either rub an ice cube over the frizziest pieces, or i use john frieda secret weapon frizz-ease

Have you tried blowing it out instead of straightening it with a flat iron? Put a smoothing/straightening serum in it while it's still wet (I love KMS or Bumble %26amp; Bumble; Kiehls makes a greasier one if you have thick/frizzy hair), then use a a heat-activted leave-in conditioner (like Thermasilk or Biolage) as you straighten it. Next time you get your hair cut, ask your stylist to show you how to blow it out. You need a big, round brush, and you work through it in sections, curling the hair under on the brush as you go around.

First of all your hair is dried out, from the chemicals. You need to really condition the hair, before you use another straightner. Also afterwards too and in between processes. Straightening the hair is harder on the hair than perming. You can also buy thoses products to use for frizzies, just don't use as much as they say. Good Luck!!!

ok you need a new iron. there is one i use called Magic Ionic. its a bit pricey but worth every penny! i've used it on the most curly frizzy hair and it came out not only stick straight, but sleek and shiny and it stayed that way overnight! trust me- you want this iron. also, you might want to try not washing your hair right before.

I had a similiar issue . I use Redken 5 hair straightneing balm and my Chi flatiron. Works like magic.
