results? do people use gel and is it bad for hair, if i flat iron with gel? i am african american and my hair is natural, i dont like to use petroleum or waxed based ptoducts, and coconut oil works well, but leaves my hair very oily, what are some good products to use when flat ironing? will straightening balm work without leaving my hair oily or greasy?

You would really like Sebastian Laminates spray. Any kind of spray for flat ironing is the best. So are oil serums. I would not recommend using gel, that may make your hair too crunchy. When I worked in a salon, the African American women loved the sebastian laminates spray.

OOH. I wouldn't suggest using gel if your hair is ESPECIALLY like mine: medium texture or coarse. Or prolly natural hair, period. My mom is a licensed cosmetologist and she says that gel breaks the hair. If you use any, use a small VERY small amount on the edges or something.
