I have like pretty thick frizzy hair. I've tried straightening my hair with an iron but it's hard for me to get the back of my hair done right. I can't really reach it right or see what I'm doing. Does anybody else have trouble straightening the back of their hair and if so how do you make it easier to do?
Can anyone give me advice for straightening my hair?
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: 30 min
Here's How:
1. Wash and condition hair.
2. Blot dry. Hair should be almost dry when you begin.
3. Part hair, leaving bottom section loose. Gather up remainder and secure or clip hair on top of your head. You will be drying the bottom layers first.
4. Follow the brush (with your dryer) down the hair as you straighten each section, and be sure to keep the dryer moving.
5. Part hair again, pulling down a new section to be straightened and procede as directed above.
6. Work your way up the layers until all sections are dried and straightened.
7. To curl the ends for a polished look, take your brush and pull the ends under. Finish your styling with a blast of cool air if your hairdryer has this capability.
Tips:
Be sure to condition your hair often. Sun, cold temperatures plus the use of your hair dryer can be hard on your hair.
For best results, use products formulated for your hair type. It does make a difference.
Give your hair a break and allow it to dry naturally as often as possible.
Have split ends snipped every six weeks to two months to ensure that they don't travel up the hair shaft.

Three things. One, get a professional straightener, skip the conair and the cheapies, they dont get hot enough and don't last long. Two, use products when your hair is still wet - defrizzing cream, leave in conditioner, whatever. Third, section your hair! Twist the top half of your hair and pin it. Split the remaining hair in half down the middle and let it rest on either shoulder. Pull hair over shoulder and straighten using slow, smooth movements. Unwind hair on top of head in layers and repeat the process. Eventually you end up with a head of straight hair. Hope that helps.

I have very frizzy hair; it's pretty long (down to my butt). I use a straightening iron. Best thing to do is to do it in sections using hair clips. Pin the top of it up and do the underneath hair first. Then little by little take more out of the clip until you've finished it all. It may take a bit longer but it really does work

I am a hairstylist and the easiest thing to do is start on the bottom in back and take sections. also there is a product made from matrix called sleek iron smoother. it does wonders and also helps protect your hair! you can get it from most salons. if your salon doesn't carry it, ask your stylist to get it for you.

see, heres what i do and it works well *i have super thick hair too*. i usually put 1/2 my hair up in a clip and straighten that first, then i do the second 1/2. and to get the back, i part my hair so i can see all of it *kinda like if you were doing pig-tails*.
hope that helps!
