They are well worth it.

Get a QUALITY straightener and pin all of your hair up except for a thin bottom layer. Straighten this section, then let down layer at a time until all of it is straightened. Paul Mitchell makes a product called Super Skinny that works really well.

My daughter and her cousins all had long curly hair so they would take turns ironing each others hair on an ironing board. It worked!!

here are some straightening tips
1)Is it bad to straighten Your hair often?
answer: It can be if you do it way too often, without the right heat protection.
2)How often is it ok to straighten your hair?
answer: You should straighten your hair only a few times a week. So you should switch up your hair styles. You really shouldn't straighten your hair a lot, because it is very damaging to your hair. If you use heat protectors every time you straighten your hair. Straighting should be no problem. I would suggest a spray from nexus call heat protexx it comes in a cream colored spray bottle, or a gel by VO5 which comes in a red bottle.By the way, even if you use a heat protector, I would still suggest you to not straighten your hair every day. A heat protector helps with the damge, but it does'nt give your hair 100% protection from the heat.
Using a good straightner also helps protect your hair from bad damage. Cermanic is the best way to ago. I've noticed that girls suggested Chi, I have used one and they truly work wonders :]
3)What happens if u straighten ur hair too often?
answer: If you straighten or apply any heat to your hair too often, without some sort of heat protection. It will eventually start to damage your hair. The heat that is put on your hair from a straighter is pretty much like frying or even cooking your hair.
4)How long will ur hair stay straightened?
answer: Hair will stay straightened until it gets washed or wet. Unless you have some type of chemical relaxer like a perm to help keep your hair straight hair may stay straight with little help of a straightner for months.
hope this information helps :]

I have a maxi glide (just incase you're wondering its not a pad...my friends ALWAYS ask me that) and it works really good you can put water in it and steam your hair and it makes it softer and easier to straighten plus it has a panel thing with peg like things so it also detangles your hair and gets it SUPER straight and it has a flat panel thing that you can switch out for touch ups.
I also herad the chi straightener works really well.
But they are both pretty expensive
well the maxi glide is about $80
and the Chi is like $200
and you can find them both at Bed Bath and Beyond

TRY A REVLON STRAIGHTNING IRON OR A SERAMIC IRON I HAVE BOTH AND THEY WORK GREAT!!! I HOPE I HELPED 閳?br>Help me with straightening hair!!!!?
Do it in sections it makes it loads easier.
I would suggest a heat protectant.
I havesuper thick hair too past my shoulders so I do it in sections and slow but even throughout the strip so some parts aren't frizzed and others straight.
Ittakes practice but best advice steady medium pace with sections so you can see which parts aren't or are straight.
**Use rubber bands or clips to section off layers if you have them.

it might cost money, but if you really want straight hair, u need to invest in a REAL STRAIGHTENER! i got mine from my hair stylist...it's conar. than always START from the TOPof your head when staining...good luck!

Get a more expensive straightener like a CHI. I heard those worked really well.
Also, remember to use a heat protecting leave-in conditioner before you start straightening because straightening without it can leave your hair really damaged.
The more expensive the straightener is, the better it probably works.

OMG IM THE SAME WAY ok you buy a straightning balm that when you put it in you hair makes it look greasy they are usually clear you take alot in your hand and rub both hands together then you put it underneath your hair then straighten the bottom and top it will make it easier and make you hair look and feel thinner

If you are willing to spend the money on a good straightener then a GHD is definately the way to go. The cost almost 300 bucks but you can get on a payment plan for like $5 a week.

If you can save up and buy a better straightener. A good straightener makes all the difference - especially when you have thick hair.
Using the straightener you have - heat it up. Apply a straightening balm to your wet hair - blow dry. Section off your hair and start at the root - straighten each section. Mist with a heat protector product and some shining balm and you're good to go.

OK well first section your hair off(try going temple to temple) take that top part and clip it so you can take time to straighten underneath. When your done with that remove the clip and straighten the leftover part. I always use some sort of straightening silk or creme before I blow dry, helps keep the static and fly-aways tame! Ha
It might take longer, but it will work darling

Shelby, you have 2 choices, really. Either accept your wavy or curly hair OR, if you really, really must go straight, chemically speaking, research and invest (its very pricey) into japanese straightening. It is the latest way to relax hair and the only real way to get it bone straight. Do NOT use do it yourself relaxers PLEASE. It will never be the bone straight hair you crave without also ironing it as well unless you do the japanese thermal straightener. Save up and consult with a professional who has done it a LOT.

Use thin pieces at a time. Or u should get a chi. Or put mousse in your hair and let it look cute and curly. My bff does that and it looks way better than letting it get fried and strait.

i have a pretty cheap straightener too. I have to section off my hair using a clip. I start at the bottom and work my way up. I usually do three separate layers. It may seem time consuming, but the results will be so much better. also get a thermal protector spray to use right before you straighten or you will seriously damage your hair.

Use a anti-frizz balm such as Phyto Defrisant (it's $32, but well worth it) on your hair when damp. Blow your hair out with a big round brush (with natural bristles for more shine). Do it in sections. The final step is to iron it out. I own a Sedu flat iron and it's the best! It's a little over a $100, but soooooo worth it.
Keep in mind that looking great is NOT always cheap! Invest in this flat iron. You won't regret it.

Well I have naturally curly and frizzy hair but you'd never know it to look at me because I straighten it. After I bought my first straightener I knew I'd never go curly again. I love it straight...if only I had natural straight hair! (Sigh)
I blow dry my hair and then comb the curls and kinks out. Then I apply a straightening lotion or serum. Then part hair down the middle and start on one side by combing out about a 3-4 inch wide section and then use the straightener. Start at the roots and slowly work your way to the ends. Then repeat 2 more times on that section of hair. Then move on to the next section.
After working your way all around to the other side Do the front section and back section. Repeat a few sections where you need it. Then apply a smoothing lotion or liquid. (I use Kiwi products.)
Then make sure you use a good hairspray (non stiff or sticky!) to keep it straight. Without the final hairspray I'd still fight the frizzies.
(I use L'Oreal Studio Line Mega Spritz. Not sticky or stiff but has mega hold and keeps my hair straight all day.)
I hope some of this info helped you. I think my straightener is a ceramic one.

Girl! you don't know what hair is! i have super thick hair and it goes to the bottom of my spine! Anyways i am here to help you! Um...well first of al i have a flat iron that gets super hot and was like $120. I got it at Westcoast Beauty Supply house...ok i have the hook ups! Anyway my hair is like super wavy and i love straight hair so here is how to do it. Because we have thick hair you have to do a layer at a time. Start at the bottom and go up. Make a small enough layer going all the way across your head and clip the rest of your hair up; then flat iron it. Do this continuously until you reach the top. Usually it takes me thirty to fourty-five minutes because i am used to doing it all the time...hope it works! OOOH if your hair is frizzy put some theromsilk on it it works great!

always make sure that your hair is thouroughly brushed!!!
