Having problems straightening my hair?

I just bought a remington flat iron and varoom gold heat + smooth-sleek both are Matrix hair products. As soon as i finish straightening my hair, it began to curl right after, especially at the ends.

My hair is naturaly curly, and preety frizzy.

Any helping tips on how to have smoother hair and which stays straight for longer periods?

My hair is just like that....I have a Farouk CHI iron...I section my hair with a clip letting down a little bit of hair at a time and straightening it......Use a comb to help comb the hair while straightening it. This works very well for me...You may be trying to straighten to much hair at one time therefore making it not get really straight. Good Luck!

For naturally curly hair all the john frieda products - 'serum' etc. are really good and they also have products for use with irons.

or you could think about getting your hair chemically straightened.

it is probably the type of hair you have and the straightners. if you have naturally wavy hair your better off using more expensive straighteners like ghds, and sometimes its to do with the lengths of your hair, if its sittingon your shoulders its likley to flick up.

Well, is your flat iron ceramic plated or ceramic plates- there is a big difference- and the way you can tell is first off how much you paid for it and secondly where did you buy it. Ceramic plate irons are made ver well and heat your hair different than another- but they come with a price and are only guarenteed when bought at a salon. They range from 100-300 dollars- I am a hair stylist and trust me- I have seen and used all different kinds.

Now, you said it was made by Matrix- which is a salon brand- but I would read your box and make sure that the plates are fully ceramic- you will absolutely need that if you are fighting curly hair. Next- have you had a decent trimto get th dead ends off lately- because sometimes a flat iron will expose the frizzy ends you don't normally see when it's curly.

Two more things- my sister has ringlets that wrap around a pencil. It takes her time to flat iron her hair. She first blow dries it with a brush that has soft bristles or a flat brush to help get it straight and she makes sure it si bone dry, if there is any moisture left in your hair- you can end up cooking it- the water turns to steam which is hotter than boiloing water,

Lastly- you need to be putting on a product that keeps a barrier between you and your hair. Matrix has one of the top selling ones- it's a cream and a little goes a long way. work it tru your hair starting at the ends and working your way up. If you see the flat iron fizzle- no worries- it is infusing the product wth your hair and not frying your hair. Again- make sure you buy everything at a salon- I am saying that because of all the testing that the products go thru and if u see the same product at cvs, walmart or target- it is the same price and sometimes more expensive- salons often have deals that the stores don't recieve because their products are diluted and have bacterias in them- it has been scientfically proven. If you haven't had your flat iron for that long- contact me thru email and I will give you some good sugggestions on where to get good ones at a resonable price- they heat up in twenty- thirty seconds and are at a constant 410 degrees.- oh sorry so long I just keep remembering things- take smaller sections and run your flat iron over it fast and smoothly two-three times. You should not have to wash your hair again for three or more days- Washing your hair is oneof the most drying experiences for it.- I could go on forever with all my lessons and stuff I learned- Good luck- any hair questions- never hesitate to email me- erica

It could be your environment, and you also get products like Herbal Essences' straightening shampoo and conditioner. Use it b4 and it's great. And maybe your hair is too dry so try not to straighten it too often.
