Well, technically, it does ruin your hair. I straighten my hair everyday like any other teen out there. But, there are products that can protect your hair from the heat. Go to Sally's. There you can ask an associate for help. Just ask them for protection on straightners or something like that. They'll be able to help you there. These products help protect you against the heat and damage, plus when you spray it on, it makes your hair so sleek and gorgeous!

It can if you don't have the right kind of straightener. You should try Maxi Glide. It is very very affective and it doesent dry out or damage your hair. It is pretty excpensive though, around $120 dollars but the investment is worth it.

I straighten my hair every day, and my hair is just as soft and healthy as it's always been.

The more you straighten/iron your hair, the more damaged it gets... but doing it just once shouldn't cause very noticeable damage, unless your iron was WAY too hot.

Try using a moisturizing conditioner (Pantene makes ones in little tubes that are pretty good - I think they're called "deep moisturizing" or something). And if it doesn't get better after another couple weeks, you might try a hot oil treatment.

Nope not for me. I straighten my hair every day and for special occasions I curl it. Its been as healthy as it was and will ever be.

It can if you don't use a heat protectant spray. When you use a spray it burns the oils in it rather that your natural oils in your hair. You can purchace a good quality spray from Regis, it's called "press it" and it smells like coconuts, I use it in mine when I curl it. If you have a super walmart in your town then it may have a salon in it with very resonable prices.

straightening your hair definitely does damage it, but if this was your first time, it shouldn't be permanantely damaged. If you straighten it in the future, make sure you use a straightener that is ionic because it doesn't pentrate the strands as deeply. Also, make sure you spray some time of heat protectant shield on your hair before....There's tons of them out there...everything from grocery store brands to top notch professional stuff. For right now, I would just recommend a deep conditioner followed by a leave in conditioner.

It depends on the brand. If you use those small little plastic ones, yes. Go to your hairdresser and see what she reccomends.

Wow no it doesnt ive straightened my hair like 6 out of 7 days of the week for like three years and my hair is still soft and smooth(i dont recomend that to anyone) all you need to do is manage your hair better. Before you straightened your hair you should of put a straightening gel/cream before to prevent some damage and a good conditioner.

not unless you used the one that looks like 2 brushes together

just use a heat one and it wont make your hair dry...

i use a "remington wet2straight" straightener after i blow dry my hair and it hasnt showed any signs of damaging at all, and i curl my hair too. so yeah dont be too worried, and if you really are concerned just go to the hairdresser and ask what you could use

Straightening can damage your hair, you shouldn't straighten everyday and when you do straighten it you should put some sort of thermal protector on it beforehand.
