Do hair dryers damage your hair more than straightening it?

is hair drying every day worse than straightening my hair every day?

Do hair dryers damage your hair more than straightening it?

If used correctly and infrequently in conjunction with a heat protectant, they will cause little damage (as any other hot tool). The device must be held at least 1" from the hair and the latter must not be dripping wet. Excessive blow drying or using the blow dryer too close to the hair or scalp will cause scorching (heat accumulation) and hair or scalp damage.

Not if your blow drying the right way. When you blow dry, you should blow dry point down from your roots. I think that straightening irons cause more damage. I guess it just depends on how hot the dryer or iron is. When you're blow drying, straightening or curling, use heat protectant sprays, like TreSemme ones. You can get them at stores like Wal-Mart for super cheap. Good question. :]

it isnt as bad as straighting it everyday, but it does burn and thin your hair out. if you do both your just tortuing it and expect to be semi-bald by the age of 40(exxageration=])
