How can i straighten my hair without a straightening iron?

does anybody know how to straighten my hair without damaging it?because i know using a straightening iron really damages your hair..and i have wavy/curly hair..

How can i straighten my hair without a straightening iron?

Use a blow dryer and large flat or round brush (I prefer round). Blow dry hair until 80% dry or so, then using brush work in sections to striaghten each section. A good video link is below. Def. a better way to go than a straightening iron....gives hair more body too.

How can i straighten my hair without a straightening iron?

well the only thing you can do to straighten your hair is let it dry by itself and hope its straight, just use proteting spray before straightening. =]]

How can i straighten my hair without a straightening iron?

Use the appropriate shampoo, conditionner followed by a hair liss product. Then blow dry with a round brush. Finish with a fixing spray.

And all straightening irons aren't that bad, you need to get those with ceramics and something with ions that produce humidity while going throught the hair. Of course it shouldn't be used everyday

How can i straighten my hair without a straightening iron?

actually, if you are willing to spend enuf money, you can get an iro that doesnt damage your hair. or if you dont wanna spend that much, use maximum hold gel but i wouldnt recommmend that

How can i straighten my hair without a straightening iron?

any time you apply concentrated heat to your hair it is damaging, however, as long as you don't do it every day and keep your hair conditioned, the damage will be minimal. you can blow-dry your hair straight or even use a regualr iron (like for clothes) but these also put a lot of heat on your hair. if you want pin-straight hair with minimal damage, get a good (ceramic) straightening iron, use a spray conditioner when your hair is still wet, then wait until your hair is comlpetely dry to straighten it (as hair is most fragile and prone to damage when it's wet). the silicone in the spray conditioner will melt as you apply heat and protect your hair.

How can i straighten my hair without a straightening iron?

hey i always straighten my hair with a hair dryer it works really well but your gonna have to do it really well.Leave the hair dryer in one spot with a brush you probably no what im talking about.

well gtg bye

How can i straighten my hair without a straightening iron?

My niece uses a regular iron on an ironing board.

How can i straighten my hair without a straightening iron?

Go to your hair stylist.

%26amp; ask her to chemically straight your hair.

It lasts for 2 months.

%26amp; it's better than using heat to straighten it.

How can i straighten my hair without a straightening iron?

i get my hair colored and texurized and that is bad enough for my hair, so if i straightened my hair, it would be really frizzy and damage my hair pretty bad. i also have natural curl in my hair, so what i do to get it straight is blowdry it out straight with a round brush (or a brush with holes in it). i suggest using pantene or biolage shampoo and conditioner. other products that i use are Biosilk silk therapy and aussie mousse%26amp;leave in conditioner. i use biosilk before i blowdry my hair to help with the frizziness. (it also makes your hair shiny, but if you put in too much, it looks greasy). i use aussie mousse%26amp;leave in conditioner before i blowdry my hair and use biosilk. you can buy biosilk @ Sally's and Aussie products @ walmart. hope i helped!

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

Doesn't it get burned? What's better, getting permanently straightened at a salon or just buying a flat iron? What's the best kind of iron or whatever that straightens hair? What products are used to prevent your hair from getting burned? What is the daily routine, do you even straighten everyday?

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

i think its better to get your hair permenently straightened at a salon, that way you dont have to waste time straightening it.

if you do want to straigten your hair, i think the CHI is the best iron i've ever used, and i used to have course thick curly hair, but the CHI made it nice and smooth. but then i went to the salon and got a cheaper version of japanese straightening done so now i dont have to flat iron my hair so much :)

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

CHI Flat irons are the best and you won't have to straighten everyday!

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

chemical straightening doesn't last

xx

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

i think its better to get it permanently straight than iron your hair everyday coz its not good for your hair....i don't straighten my hair everyday coz my hair naturally straight...

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

If it only takes you like 5-10 mins to straighten your hair its fine...thats how long it takes me...but if it takes you a hour just to get your hair straight ya its probably going to cause some damage...you could just not wash it everyday and straighten it 2-3 times a week...or something.

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

GO NATURAL LET YOUR HAIR SHINE FOR WHO YOU REALLY ARE....HEHEHE(CUTE)

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

yeah it gets burn your better off getting a perm its less damage to your hair...........and there are many products for that purpose just ask some one in tha store they show u .........but a perm is way better!!!!!!!!!!

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

UHHH DUH!!!! yes that's bad it very bad

best kind of iron

the sedu and or the FHI and a heat protecting spray is

tresemme heat tamer

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

No it's not. It is nice to wear your hair straight everyday. I used to do it all the time and now i have a lot of hair breakage and it is dry and ugly. There are creams that you can put on your hair to prevent it from all the damage but sometimes they are a bit too expensive but it is worth it. The best iron to use would be a ceramic one. The products you can use that i have used are Thermasilk products. I am not sure if they are still out in the market but they are really good for heat.

Is it worth it straightening hair everyday?

Well, i would say getting it permanently straightened, if you do not colour it. Straightening it everyday is such a hassle.

Chemically straightening hair.?

hi, im 13 years old and i have kinda fine hair. it has a little wave to it and i straighten it every day. this doesn't matter but its blonde and a little past my shoulders. I was wondering if this would help it be straighter so maybe i wouldn't have to straighten it as much or at all. thank u.

Chemically straightening hair.?

I get a straight perm once every year and I have a lot of fine brown hair. If you get the perm done correctly with good chemicals, you won't have to straighten your hair daily. But, you should be careful since your hair is fine. Basically, it will make your hair very, very straight! :)

Chemically straightening hair.?

Unless you have afro carribean hair its not reccomended you do this. It is very likely to seriously damage your hair in the long run, and should only be an option for people with long thick, or tight curly hair. It would be best to try encourage your natural wave more, as this can be a nice style.

Chemically straightening hair.?

i am 12 and i straightened my hair with chemicals. it didnt work at all.

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

I straighten my hair about twice a week with a good straightener. it's a conair that was $80 and ceramic. But i dont want to damage my hair. am i? If i should put something in it first do you recommend any good products?

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

some type of heat damage protector spray. no matter how good your straightener is, its always going to do SOME type of damage because...that's what heat does to your hair

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

Put something in your hair before straightening and burn it

lol

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

duh! YOUR HANDS THEN PULL YOUR HAIR,THAT WILL

STRAIGHTEN IT OUT

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

even with good quality straighteners some kind of priming lotion would b better than not although no great damage will occur without it.

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

I put this protective oil in my hair, but just on the ends

And it's smells goood

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

no not before. but to not fry it, make sure u put on conditioner. also get a good trim every 6 weex

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

yes, heat protection spray.

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

There's serums and stuff available that you really should put in your hair before straightening it. The product coats your hair and offers some protection from the irons. Also, your hair will look much shinier and healthier while it is straightened. I would recommend going to the chemist or grocery store and just seeing what serums are available.

Good luck!

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

There is a product from Rusk (a hair company) It's a yellow bottle and you just run it through your hair before you straighten it and it will keep you hair from drying out.

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

i think theres like this really nice spray i forgot the name but go to sallys beauty shop and it works great spray it before straightening ur hair and when ur done straightening it doesn't damage or doesn't become frizz either

works great !

Should i put anything in my hair before straightening it?

Loreal TEX. They have awesome products. The new line which is gold, has this really good cream that you put in before straightening you're hair called Supreme smoothe. Also an AWESOME product, which is really hard to find but wonderful is also by loreal TEX, but in a black container called Straight Spray....you spray it on each section before you straighten it (care not to spray near the roots) It not only makes your hair super straight!!! But it leaves it As soft as Asian Hair....AMAZING!!!! Both are only at salons but totally worth it!!!!

Products for straightening your hair?

i need to find a product

Products for straightening your hair?

I think you should use Chi Silk Infusion before flat ironing your hair. It works much better than biosilk. Your hair will be very soft, shiny, and touchable.

My hair is much thinner than last year all because of straightening? but my bangs stayed healthy???

i used to straighten my hair almost every day without using heat protectants and my hair became more thin and breaks more and i have some split ends now....i got a trim and that took out most of my split ends and i also stopped straightening my hair.but now the split ends are back and my hair is layered and most of my hair is VERY frizzy, split ends, and brittle on the left side right near my face. what can i do to fix my hair and make it healthy like it was a year ago? and also i straightened my side bangs the most but they stayed silky and didnt get damaged.. why?

please help!

My hair is much thinner than last year all because of straightening? but my bangs stayed healthy???

As for what you can do to make your hair healthy again: try a restorative hair product. I believe that pantene makes them. Your bangs probably didn't get damaged because they are closer to your scalp than the rest of your hair, therefore they have more natural oils. The natural oils from your scalp and face probably protected your bangs from most of the heat from the hair straightener. It won't hurt to use restoratives on them either. And for future notice... ALWAYS use a heat protectant spray or gel to keep this from happening again. And also, don't straighten your hair everyway. There are always cute alternatives: For example, scrunching, all natural, and up (like ponytails, braids, or buns.) Good luck, and I hope I helped!!

My hair is much thinner than last year all because of straightening? but my bangs stayed healthy???

LOCAL SALON STAT!

My hair is much thinner than last year all because of straightening? but my bangs stayed healthy???

You should straighten your hair no more then 3 days a week, even with a protectant cream. There is no way to get your hair back to normal. You'll just have to let it grow out. The reason that your bangs stayed silky is b/c that is usually where it is the oiliest (from your forehead).

Good Luck!

My hair is much thinner than last year all because of straightening? but my bangs stayed healthy???

Buy Neutrogena Triple Moisture.

My hair is much thinner than last year all because of straightening? but my bangs stayed healthy???

What flat iron were you using? That could have a tiny bit to do with what happened to your hair. If you can afford to get the Chi iron and its products, it is WELL worth it.

For now I would condition your hair very well and get some Matrix Instacure or Redken Extreme products. They work to restore your hair.

As for Frizz, there are some great serums out there that will make that go away. Silk Therapy By Biosilk or chi Silk Infusion. If you cant get salon products, Freda Frizz Ease is good. But remember to deep condition. Good luck!

Chemicaly Straightening hair?

i have really fluffy%26amp;wavy hair, but when i straighten with a ceramic flat iron its really shiny %26amp; straight %26amp; pretty =D ... so are the results the same for when you chemicaly straighten?

Chemicaly Straightening hair?

I got my hair chemically straightened in August before school started and it was the best thing I have EVER done for my hair. Honestly, I used to have hair that was frizzy, curly, and a big poofy mess. And now my hair is shiny and pretty right when I step out of the shower. I don't even have to really blow dry it and since I've stopped flat ironing, it has looked SO much healthier. Hair gets damaged big time from the flat ironing. Chemical straightening also is drying to the hair, but if you get a "thermal" Japanese chemical treatment and go to a PROFESSIONAL who has lots of experience, and don't cheap out, your hair will be dry initially for a couple of days, but then silky, smooth, and beautiful. ALL of the time.

It's definitely worth it!

Chemicaly Straightening hair?

yeah chemically straightening you rhair is like a dream come true. you seriously wake up and let it dry and it looks perfect. it take foreverrrrr though like 4 hours, and it's sorta expensive (i think like 300 or 400).

Chemicaly Straightening hair?

No. If you already have puffy hair, you don't want to get it chemically straightened. When you do it, it fries your hair. I would reccomend to keep straightening your hair, and using good conditioning products. It's much safer and you don't risk losing your hair!

閳?br>Chemicaly Straightening hair?

not at all. my friend had that done and it has no shine at all. ceramic flat irons work the best but are bad for your hair. if you use it every day be sure to use a leave in conditioning spray right before use use it. that has always worked best for me

About Straightening hair?

when i straighten my hair, it looks kind of course and its a little poofy, how can i straighten it and it'll look sleek and shiny and straight

About Straightening hair?

Use a straightening serum.

or diffuser

About Straightening hair?

apply straight hair serum before you straighten, and be sure to get the iron very close to your roots

About Straightening hair?

use a leave in conditioner before straightening it.

that should help with the fly away hairs.

About Straightening hair?

what i suggest is buying CHI straightening gel. u can buy it at any stor (i got mine at target) its cheap...easy to use...and it works wonderfullly

About Straightening hair?

NOO

About Straightening hair?

Maybe its your staitener and when you do strainten your hair clip up half of it and then let the half down and do that part

About Straightening hair?

well i recomend you buy hair products so it can be sleek and shine when i always finish straightning my hair its all frizy and i use john frieda frizz you can find it in any store

About Straightening hair?

Well i straighten my hair everyday. Cause it must be straight or i dont leave the house :3

Straighteners arent suppose to leave your hair poofy. Maybe buy a better one. Try adding heat protectent(sp?)

About Straightening hair?

Put a Straightning serum!

About Straightening hair?

Splay, Its A 10 miracle product works really well.

About Straightening hair?

Take a small amount of moose and run it through your hair,

then straighten.

Or use skinny serum .

About Straightening hair?

um... try using anti friz products

About Straightening hair?

Straighten it over, and over again

until there's no waves or curls.

It works for me.

About Straightening hair?

while your hairs still wet use a straightening serum ( i use pual mitchell super skinny)...then before you straighten it when its dry use CHI silk infusion (if protects your hair from damage, adds shine, and it makes it less poufy)

About Straightening hair?

I know what you mean. I have naturally curly hair like really really curly hair and sometimes when I straighten it, it gets course and kind of poofy. i just started using this stuff its kind of like the product bed head and its called crazy sleek. it comes in like a orange spray bottle and it really makes my hair smooth and nice

About Straightening hair?

this used to happen to me. try taking longer to straighten it, that helped for me. when you are pulling the straightener down the hair, do it slower. thats what stopped mine doing that. now i have a better hair straightener, if that doesnt help get a new straightener. i would recommend a GHD straightener, i have that one now. it keeps your hair shiny and smooth. good luck

About Straightening hair?

go to your local sallon and they will have about a trillion different straughtening serums you can choose from. they are pricey but are well woth it. make sier you get something that protect your hair as well b/c straightening will do a number on it!

About Straightening hair?

oh that is so sexy to have a guy have that haircut. just make sure you get at the root of your hair with the straightener. and put alittle shine mist on it (( like vo5 products )) after your done. but not too much.

dont worry i started straightening my hair at 12 ys old and it looked like what your describing. but after awhile of doing it i got Really Good!!!

so keep trying ill get it

ps- and you will get frustrated

About Straightening hair?

use oils for hair. it will help it look shiner, smooth, and straight.

buy the oil for hair at nearest hair shop

About Straightening hair?

I'm hispanic and have curly thick hair. After using SO many products I found oil sheen and a flat iron called Gold N' Hot works miracles. Everyone thinks my hair is naturally straight. I towel dry my hair, spray oil sheen, let it dry naturally, then use the flat iron in sections. The end result is beautiful. African american products are made to protect hair with substantial use of heat. Just make sure to use it (the oil sheen) sparingly if you have oily hair.

Straightening ur hair, how often should u do it?

okay i got to school and i see girls straightening their hair every 2-3 wks, what i wanna know is if i straighten my hair every two months do u think it will get damaged, i just want to do it in Jan. for and event and then again for march for another event. i hate split ends, but i want to know if i flat iron every 2 month will it be damaged?

Straightening ur hair, how often should u do it?

It will definately get damaged. Doing it once in 6 months is fine but once in 2 months will damage your hair and make your hair drop and frizzy.

Straightening ur hair, how often should u do it?

u should straight ur hair for when ever you want. but not every day. ok... staright it one week WITHOUT washing it. then leave it one week. then straight it the next. get it?

Straightening ur hair, how often should u do it?

this is bad but i straighten my hair every other day.

really i think any amount of straightening damages hair. in your case do some deep conditioning before you straighten.concentrating on your ends. i dont think you will have massive damage. maybe a few splits( if u can even notice them) but its the price you pay. maybe get a trtim after both events.

Straightening ur hair, how often should u do it?

hi your hair will get damaged if you straighten it every 2 months. on the other hand it will not get damaged if you straighten it every half of the year which is 6 months. if you use a real deep conditioner before straightening it I'm sure you could manage it the times you want it straightened. so i would say go for it and put strong conditioner on. hope i could help!!

Permenant straightening hair?

When the people permenently straighten your hair, what do they do step by step? I heard they use chemicals.... is it bad for your hair? Thanks!

Permenant straightening hair?

Yes it does damage your hair like a perm to get curly hair.

There's the straightening that African type hair uses and then there is the Japanese straightening method. Both use chemicals.

Permenant straightening hair?

I don't think it would harm your hair, but I know it costs a lot of money.

Permenant straightening hair?

haha dam straight

Permenant straightening hair?

yes, it damages your hair worse then you straight your hair by yourself but its worth it

Permenant straightening hair?

i just use a straightener that i got from the store but it dosent work very goo. cause it just dries out your hair.

Permenant straightening hair?

Okay they do use chemicals see it is very very exspensive first of all. second It drys and ruins your hair every time you get it done. You cant just get it donw once cause it will run off and your hair will go back to its original ways. And last but not least it will mess up your hair forever and their really isnt a way to fix it.

Permenant straightening hair?

I just use a straightening iron and do it by myself. It takes a little extra time, but it doesn't do any harm to your hair unless you accidentally burn it.

Permenant straightening hair?

It is easy to get straight hair........first wet your hand .........then stick your finger in a 220 volt outlet!.......Presto!!! straight hair!!!! ( just kidding, kids don't try this at home!)

Permenant straightening hair?

GO to KMART, TARGET, Grace bros.

Is there any way to get "emo" hair without straightening it?

I have wavy hair that curls out at the ends. I'm not allowed to get a straightener, so is there any way to get emo hair without straightening it?

Is there any way to get "emo" hair without straightening it?

You can try and straighten it with a hairdryer.

Or get your hair chemically straightened, but I wouldn't suggest that because its damaging and your not allowed a straightener anyway.

There is some really good straightening products that do not require a straightener.

Good luck :)

Is there any way to get "emo" hair without straightening it?

you can straighten your hair with a hairdryer :]

Straightening my hair(please answer)?

ok...im 12 and my hair is wavy and i hate it! so i straighten it...how is straightening my hair gonna effect my future and now?

Straightening my hair(please answer)?

hey, im a pro hairdresser;

you shouldnt straighten your hair too much, maybe maxium just twice a week. but if in bad condition once is even harmfull.

it dries the hair out, and split ends get worse!

i think every one should love their hairs! you must have lovely wavy hair, you can do lots with wavy hair. ok, dont straighten your hair anymore!!, go and get a nice hair cut, and buy some moose and wallaaa!! perfect

take care and i hope u listen to my advice

Straightening my hair(please answer)?

if you want all the jr high guys all over you id get the mullet

Straightening my hair(please answer)?

You can straigthen your hair using natural methods, which won't harm your hair and give you the effect you want. here you may find one method: http://www.jurgita.com/articles-id12.htm... it's rather simple to follow and really works.

Straightening my hair(please answer)?

it will make it really thin and by the time your 20 it will be really dry and half as thin as it is now

The expensive straightening iron I got seems to have permanently straightened my hair. Why?

I recently got one of those expensive, high heat straightening irons and used it on my hair on and off for about 2 weeks. When I stopped using it, (after washing my hair) I noticed that my hair is only half as curly as it used to be, and has a weird sulfur-y smell, especially when it's wet (the smell reminds me of what a 'perm' smells like.) It has been about 3 weeks without using it and my hair still hasn't returned to normal. My hair is naturally really curly, but also very fine and dry (it breaks easily and is fairly fragile, for curly hair).

Is it possible that the texture of my hair was permanently altered by using the iron? Could it have something to do with styling products (only smoothing hair serum) or the pH of my hair? I miss my hair so much, and the smell is driving me and my boyfriend crazy!

The expensive straightening iron I got seems to have permanently straightened my hair. Why?

My guess would be that the high heat dried your hair out, and took away a lot of it's natural moisture; which is why your hair texture may have changed. In the Summer, when it's humid out, your hair frizzes and curls up more than it normally does; this happens because of the moisture in the air...take the moisture away and it will have the opposite effect.

You should try using deep conditioning treatments a few times a week, such as a hair mask or a hot oil treatment (VO5). If that doesn't work, you may just have to wait until your hair grows out to get your curly hair back; it didn't permanently change your hair texture though, your hair will grow back as it was before as long as you don't continue using the iron.

As for the smell... that is very weird. Maybe you should try switching up your shampoo and conditioner, it may be a reaction from one of the chemicals in your hair products, ESPECIALLY the hair serum - you should stop using that for awhile to see if the smell goes away. Styling products build-up and don't entirely shampoo out unless you use a clarifying shampoo.

The expensive straightening iron I got seems to have permanently straightened my hair. Why?

honey you need to go to a hair salon not ask a question like that on here cause your hair is definitely ruined especially if it smells like that

The expensive straightening iron I got seems to have permanently straightened my hair. Why?

Straightening your hair is not very healthy for it. (No offense, I straighten my hair a lot) You are actually burning it when you straighten it, and depending on your hair, a lot of weird things can happen. It could not have permanently altered your hair, though. Maybe your hair is getting naturally straighter. You can find out by seeing how it is when it grows out more.

The expensive straightening iron I got seems to have permanently straightened my hair. Why?

ugh that sucks

so idk???

The expensive straightening iron I got seems to have permanently straightened my hair. Why?

The more expensive models get so hot that it is possible that you have burned the curl out of your hair, which means you have damaged your hair to the point it will no longer hold it's natural curl. Once the hair is damaged to that point, trying to get the dead , damaged hair back to it's original curl, usually, takes nothing short of a miracle. Protien treatments and reconstructors will help, but if it so damaged it will not hold a curl, the only way to fix it is by cutting a great deal of the damage off. If it was frail to begin with, the heat most likely did you in. Most models top off at around 400 degrees, which for fine hair, is WAY too excessive!

Once damaged or burned, your best bet is to get the damaged hair off and start over! Sorry!!!

Hairstylist.

The expensive straightening iron I got seems to have permanently straightened my hair. Why?

thats really strange. i would go to a salon and call the company and ask wht went wrong and about the smell... a straightener alone wouldnt do it. i have straightened my hair everyday for over 10 years and my hair is just as curly...with TONS of different straighteners. both expensive and not

The expensive straightening iron I got seems to have permanently straightened my hair. Why?

feel bad for you deary but i think you've badly damaged your hair by using the iron too often.. if it always smells like somethings burning then i think you have to have your hair treated in a salon.. or maybe you can use kerastase nutritive gluco-active as an immediate remedy.. i would also suggest you don't skip anyday without using a conditioner, just to partially repair your hair.. wishin you all the luck!

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

my friend insists it won't, but someone on here maintained it does.. i'm about to straighten my hair, so ..... HELP MME!!

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

Actually, it's the best thing to do.

By not blow drying first, the hair follicles are more apt to being burned, and the straitghtener is more apt to breaking down.

So blow dry first!

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

YES

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

it will look the same in the end, trust me, i've done it. just stick to straightening, blowdrying is just adding more stress to your hair

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

blow drying and straighting your hair will damage it. Use lots of conditioner and use special products for blow drying or high heat.

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

It will damage your hair but just use conditioner in the shower and use leave in conditioner after your shower.

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

yes it will

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

the best way to straighten your hair is to only blow dry! get it really wet, put some moose on it, and use a round brush and blow dry in a downward motion using the brush as a guide. There is no reason to use flat iron or harsh chemicals. Everything with Heat and chemical is going to cause damage to an extent but to cut down you need to just use one method!

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

No,

It will damage you straightening if you do not dry your hair first.

It will make the straighter cool off.

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

It DOES ruin it, but you can prevent it. Try VO5 Miracle mist when your hair is damp, spray it on. Then, apply before you starighten it. Good luck!

Will blow drying my hair before straightening it damage it?

No it wont if you use moisturising lotion like Dark and Lovely before you blow dry it

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

I dont know but lately everyone seems to be straightening their hair! I mean everywhere i go , the mall , everywhere . Everyone has their hair done pin straight. I mean yeah , it probobly is the trend now but c'mon .... almost every girl in my school straightens their hair . I have naturally curly hair and i keep it curly but i feel like noone wants to embrace or show off their curls anymore these days....Its almost like curly hair is "out" now or doesnt look nice anymore or something. It kinda bothers me. Just my opinion...What do you think?

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

I think people straighten their hair because it shows off shine and health of hair better, and many people who have curly hair hate the frizz that comes with it, or just want something completely different than they are used to. But I do think that they should embrace their curl. My friend hand a beautiful head of curly hair and started straightening it this year when we came to high school, I can;t even remember what it looked like curly!

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

well for me, i have wavy hair naturally but its easier just to straighten it then curl it the way i want. thats why i straighten mine all the time. i dont know about other people though.

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

I think you're right! Good job for being different, I went to the mall yesterday, and everyone is wearing those uggs! Why does every girl want to be the same? Beats me.

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

i only do it sometimes

i lovee my natural hair

it's like beach waves sort of hair

so yeah, not everyone is. your school isn't enough evidence.

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

If you want to "embrace" your curls,

then why isn't your hair curly in your avatar?

EDIT: yes, her hair is curly now, because she changed it after I posted this. So "Eurogal1993" why don't YOU get YOUR facts straight first.

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

If i had nice curly hair, i would leave it. but lots of people arent lucky enough to have curly hair that looks good, so they straighten it :)

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

Because straight hair is easier to tame. I love curly hair because it's cuter and just... cute! Some people do it for change ups, or because they don't like it. I think its not about embracing it really. Some people just like to change up or some people just have to be seen with straight hair to be accepted. Just different reasons you know?

HOPE THIS HELPS %26amp; GOOD LUCK!!

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

I feel the same, i hate straight hair its so dull, i love curls.

*Dont worry, because its only a trend that will die out soon!*

Remember the 80's when perms were fashionable?

These trends usually last about 5+ years so its due to end really soon and i cant wait!

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

you're absolutely right. I totally agree. I have naturally curly hair, and it's hard to manage but i try the best I can to embrace it, because that's what god's given me. It bothers me that everyone straightens their hair and it's always perfect and pin-straight. I hate it. But in the end, we come out more beautiful than everyone else, because if there are a million girls with pin straigh hair, of course everyone's gonna be looking at that one girl with curly, maybe not PERFECT, but not like everyone else's, hair.

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

It's much MUCH harder dealing with cury hair. It's not that it it is 'out' it's just a pain that no one wants to deal with, especially at 7:30 in the morning, fumbling around getting ready for school. Curls are a big thing with celebrities who have stylists to do it for them and make their curls look nice, while they sleep in the chair.

I have naturally SUPER curly hair. Sure, I can make it look nice, but there always that worry of having the wind mess it up, of if a curl broke the intense serum I plaster onto it and is no rebelling and making me look like a unicorn or something. Straight hair- just put it in a ponytail and go. If it looks slightly messy- hey you still look good, that's in. The same can't be said for messy curly hair.

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

A lot of people, like me, who already have straight hair, want curly and wavy hair because not as many people have it these days.

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

Mine is naturally straight and I wish I had wavy hair! I think it looks better, so I'm not sure. I guess they enjoy looking like everyone else or maybe it's just easier to work with.

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

I don't know why everyone is straightening their hair, but my hair is neither curly nor straight, and i don't like the way it looks when i do nothing to it. It is easier for me to straighten it than curling it, so most of the time i wear it straight.

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

just go your own way!

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

Sorry I don't have an answer for that but I just want to say to Whittanyxcore that the hair IS curly but kinda swept back - so get you facts right mate! lmao! =P

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

yeah u r right...

now a daz straight hair has bcum everyone's style statement. i prefer straight hair for only spl occasions just for a change as my hair is wavy, but i keep my natural wavy hair dialy.

if u have lovely curly hair then go on with it n next time keenly observe , those straight hair gals will b for sure looking at ur beautiful curls with envious eyes i bet on it

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

everone's hair is poofy or frizzy without straightening it so they straighten it. believe it!! i straighten a lot too. it's probably the easiest thing you could do to your hair if not the messy bun or the pony tail.

curling takes too long, and the straightening iron is just there...you don't need to have special skills to use it. just glide it down your hair and viola! perfect hair that is so easy!!

Why is everyone straightening their hair ?

i don't straighten my hair and it's straighter then most of my friends who do but i really like the wavy/curly hair look.. i think you're lucky to have curly hair.

Does straightening/curling your hair affect hair growth?

Most of the people in my family have really thick, healthy hair when they're younger, but they lose hair earlier than they should; around middle age. I've been straightening my hair a lot, and it just occurred to me that it might be harmful and cause my hair to fall out even earlier. Does anyone know if it does affect it?

Does straightening/curling your hair affect hair growth?

it could make the hair week and it will fall off not at the root it will just break off.

Does straightening/curling your hair affect hair growth?

It most certainly does. The absolute worst thing for hair.........is HEAT.

There is something called FIA

FLAT IRON ABUSE

you can damage the hair follicle permanently by over straightening your hair.....

I talk about it a lot..........

www . killerstrands . blogspot . com

Does straightening/curling your hair affect hair growth?

I think that what you do to your hair on the outside doesn't affect anything on the inside hairs are just dead cells so by straightening your hair a lot the only think your doing is burning it if your going to keep straightening it that much just be sure to buy one of those sprays you put on before you straighten your hair so you wont burn it that much, also you said it has hap pend in your family so maybe its just a heredity thing.

Does straightening/curling your hair affect hair growth?

the straghteners wont affect the thinning of your hair but they are very damaging unless you are using the correct products to match your straightners.

hair thins with age and most families have the same growth pattern, if your hair starts to fall out go to your pharmacy-they can recommend a product for your own hair type. :)

Straightening troublesome hair?

I've been trying to straighten out my hair for a while now. It's naturally wavy, and particularly on my right side, my hair wants to curl to the front. I've tried blowdrying with a rolling brush as well as a ceramic straightening iron using Redkin smooth down oil, even applyed Got2B Shaggy texture to it and train it to go straight, but it still doesn't work. What do I do?

Straightening troublesome hair?

Buy a shampoo that is meant for straight hair, that'll help to straighten it, use some silk results straightening stuff to help protect your hair from heat and helps straighten better and blow dry as you do.

Got2b has never worked for me.

What type of blowdryer do you have? I have a revlon one that puts ions back into the hair and that really helps, also you may need to put your flat iron on a higher heat.

I have wavy hair and I use a Solia flat iron (folica.com) and it works wonders! I've also straightened my cousins hair with it and her hair is VERY tight curls and it went as straight as mine does.

If all else fails go to a salon and ask to get your hair blown out. that'll keep it straight for a week I believe.

Straightening troublesome hair?

shave it all off

JUST KIDDING

i have the exact same hair, and i cant use too much smoothing product, because my hair looks greasy when I put too much of anything in it.

so...

i found that Herbal Essences straightening shampoo works wonders! I accidentally used my friends because I had run out of shampoo, and it was amazing! i don't know if the conditioner works as well as the shampoo, but I've been using the shampoo the night before i straighten my hair, and its been really easy to manage.

its still going to have some slight waves, but it pretty much knocks out a lot of the curliness

o and i know how cheeze it sounds/looks, but it works

Straightening troublesome hair?

Have you tried GHD straighteners? They're the best. I have very curly hair and they're the only things thatmake it straight, quickly and stay. I would also recommend swarzkopf anti frizz serum after straightening it's really good...Good luck!!!

Straightening troublesome hair?

my hair is wavy, curly and frizzy. but the way i straighten my hair is in different parts. first i start with the bottom then the middle work my way to the top. when i straighten my hair i get the brush apply it on my hair get the straightener and comb while i straighten my hair this gives me shiny, silky hair. but your hair is probably not use to being straight. give your hair some time to get use to being straight. i suggest you spend more free time on your hair just to get to know your hair a little bit more.

Straightening troublesome hair?

Use Loreal Paris Hot Straight.

Its a cream that helps to straighten your hair and protects against the heat damage from the flat iron.

My Hair s extremely frizzy and naturally curly and this product works quite well :)

Is straightening your hair everyday or almost everyday bad for you?

I'm asian...and my hair isn't flat out straight.

It's thick, it's layered, it's ugly when it's not straight. - -

I really really REALLY! want straight hair 24/7.

I want to know if straightening my hair everyday or every few days is bad for me? or my hair and what are the effects in the future.

(If you could, could you please give me advice on how to keep my hair straight?)

Is straightening your hair everyday or almost everyday bad for you?

My hair is exactly the same and I'm asian too. I hate my hair when it isn't straight. Try using "the end" and "beyond straight" by maxius maxiglide before you straighten your hair, it makes you straight hair last longer, oh, and try getting a straight perm, that way, you don't have to straighten your hair everyday just to get it perfect. The Chi hair straighteners work well to, but, it burns your hair if you use it all the time.

Hope I helped.

P.S. Can everyone please answer this question for me, I need as much answers and opinions that I can get. thanks.

http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind...

Is straightening your hair everyday or almost everyday bad for you?

its bad for your hair if you dont use some type of smoothing oil in it, because it breaks off you hair strand.

Is straightening your hair everyday or almost everyday bad for you?

after your hair dries (naturally) put in some biosilk or frizz-ease to protect your hair and just straighten it like normal. asians and hawaiians (me!) have thick hair so washing it every other day and not every day is best! :)

Is straightening your hair everyday or almost everyday bad for you?

I have been straightening my hair every day since I was 13 (I'm *now 17)

My hair is still silky soft. Is it a little drying on your hair, yes. Will it cause any major damage, no.

The key to keeping your hair moisturized is using a heat protectant cream in your hair before you straighten it (L'oreal Hot Straight works great).

Is straightening your hair everyday or almost everyday bad for you?

Well, it will look pretty now but if you keep on doing it everyday or almost everyday. What it does is that it burns your hair and if you though your hair is ugly now you will totally hate it more if you keep on straightening it. When you do a blower its better because it doesn't burn your hair. But, you can't do it everyday ether. If, you don't want your hair to burn do it every other week. the week that you know you can't straight your hair put yell on and make it curly it look pretty like that.

Is straightening your hair everyday or almost everyday bad for you?

It will eventually cause split ends and breakage and make your hair dry.

You can blow dry it using a round brush then smooth with some frizz serum. That should keep it straight and smooth with some volume.

Or you can get it chemically straightened Just consult your salon if you want to go that route.

Good luck to you

Is straightening your hair everyday or almost everyday bad for you?

if you wan an inexpensive way to straighten your hair for a while with out having to use a flat iron every day you can get a relaxer from dark and lovely...it is made for african americans, but my husband, who is white, uses it every 6 months or so. His hair is very thick and curly, but when he uses it, it becomes sleek and shiny. Also you can use a spray called Mink oil on it and it will give it a sleek shiny appearance too.

Good Luck.

OH and if you decide to do this be sure not to leave it on for too long, it will fry your hair and cause it to break off really short!

Is straightening your hair everyday or almost everyday bad for you?

Yes, it is very bad for your hair. I know from experience, if you do this for awhile your hair will begin to break and become very dry and damaged.

Is straightening your hair everyday or almost everyday bad for you?

I used to straighten my hair everyday, but my hair naturally curly. When it would dry after the shower before I straightened it again, it was super curly! My hair was rebelling I think!

I recommend the Chi straightener. They are pretty expensive but are really awesome straighteners because they work to smooth it and not dry it out and it gets really hot so there are less strokes. Check on eBay, but don't get the pink ones. Just the 2" regular Chi in the black box. About $80-100. Good luck!

PLEASE help me if you know anything about straightening curly hair and GHD straighteners. thanks=)?

Hi there=). So my hair is really curly, and everyone tells me i should keep it the way it is because they like it but i really hate it! i cant do anything but tie it up!..So i was just wondering if you knew what straightener and products such as GHD would make my hair nice and straight. OR if i should go get my hair PERMANENTLY straightened. What do you think? please help me make my hair nice. Thankyou=)

Oh ! and i also wouldnt mind having loose curls, so if you know how i can get my hair that way, it would really help too! thanks

PLEASE help me if you know anything about straightening curly hair and GHD straighteners. thanks=)?

GHD. Remember when you chemically straighten your hair your regrowth is curly and you have to wait a couple of months before re- straightening your hair plus it is extremley harsh on your hair.

Get a GHD, then you have all the options, straight or curls.

If you want loose curls straight you hair first, then as you clamp the GHD on you hair twist the straightner 360 till you get to end, is you want them really loose start half way down the length of you hair, but remember they usually drop.

PLEASE help me if you know anything about straightening curly hair and GHD straighteners. thanks=)?

Ghds and G4 hair straightners are the best i reccommend using a thermal protecting creme such as loreal tec or ghd iron oil when staightening

permanatly straighteneing is a good idea as you dont have to take time to straighten it all the time and also gives a dead straight look. on hair that is damaged or had alot of colour in it its not really reccomended. you can also use a ghd to create loose curls as well.

PLEASE help me if you know anything about straightening curly hair and GHD straighteners. thanks=)?

http://ghd-uk.co.uk/new-mk4-ghd.php

check out the link it tells you all about ghd styler's perfect for you i would say, i have them and my hair is straight so i can curl it or style it differently other than straight. x

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

Kay, so my hair HAS to be straightened if i want it straight, it looks REALLY bad if i don't. is it going to be fried? anyways to make it straight other than straightening?

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

If you must straighten it, make sure to have it deep conditioned when going in for cuts/trims. You can also give yourself hot oil treatments at home in between. Straightening is going to damage your hair no matter what, but you can mask it by getting regular trims and conditioning. Also, don't ever brush your hair when it's wet because you'll damage it further. Use a wide tooth comb and start from the bottom, slowly working your way up.

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

no, you just have to be sure to wash it every day.

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

Well, you can always get it chemically straightened, or you can try blowdrying it straight. That can be a pain though. .you'll have frizzy hair even if you use products.

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

use silk heard it helps damaged hair

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

Yeh it can i have the same problem

Use some infusium if thats how you spell it i forget

its a leave in treatment that helps damaged hair

Good Luck !

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

use a heat protecting lotion before straigtening it

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

Buy some heat protectant spray. It helps keep it healthy

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

why don't you try the japanese hair straightening.... it lasts a few months so ur not constantly straightening it.

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

try some frizz eeze and not straightening

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

get it chemically straigtened, and use a straightner, it will look ahmazing... o, AND use a leave in conditioner to make it silky

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

actually, washing your hair every single day, strips its natural oils. just be sure to condition in the shower, making sure you really work into the areas of your hair that become extremely dried out. you can also opt for a serum that will restore your hair over time. other than that, there aren't many ways you can straighten hair without ironing it.

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

YOU CAN BUY BETTER STRAIGTENERS THAT AREN'T THAT HIGH ON TEMPERATURE. THEY HAVE THEM AT THE MALL ON THOSE LITTLE CART THINGS SOMETIMES

SOO BUY A NEW STRAIGTNER

OR TURN THE TEMPURATURE DOWN

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

they have straightning gels that doesnt make it AS straight as the straightner but it still is something oh and i have a HAI straightner and it doesnt fry as much look it uphttp://img.slate.com/media/1/123125/1229...

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

Try motor oil (5W-30)

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

me and you are alikeee.

i have hugeee hair.

its really frizzy and big and curly.

and i have to straighten mine too or it looks bad.

well, i use a CHI straightener and they work really good.

you wont fry your hair.

but you could if you just use a cheap straightener.

the expensive ones are made differently and set it at a good temperature for your hair and protects it.

just dont buy cheap ones :]

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

Good question, Jessica! I've also wondered this before myself.

Mine hair also needs straightened :/

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

Be careful. I know exactly i have to starighten mine everyday but I am frying it. What I do is get Garnier Fruites and I use the leave-in-conditioner and it works real well it doesnt fix it but it does help alot. Maybe get a permenant starightner they sell them at Sally's Beauty Suppy and you can get it removed. My friend did that. Best of Luck. Also 1 more way to make it starighter then others is get some straightning stuff. I use got2b crazysleek hot smooth Flat Iron %26amp; Blow Dry Lotion at walmart for $5 thengot2b Crazy Sleek Shine lock:)

Hope I helped some!

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

yes it will start getting dry...once a month use a hot oil treatments...you can get them over the counter. V05 works the best. Also, you want to use more expensive Shampoo's and Conditioners. Like Jocico K-Pak and Paul Mitchells' Albuwi or something like that. The less expensive the shampoo/conditioner the more alcohol that is in it. Which will dry out your hair even more.

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

no ur not frying it. just remeber these tips otherwise u will fry it!!!

firstly dont go thru one section of hair more than twice, this can burn the hair as its gettin too much heat on it.

secondly buy a heat protection spray for ur hair, use this b4 so it protects ur hair, they around 4-5 quid

lastly u can always blow dry, chemically straighten ur hair or use hair waxing gel to make it more thin and straight without going thru all the bother.

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

use heat protecting spray or a product for damage hair

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

you could try using a product that you put in to protect from the heat. you can find them at wal mart and stuff. just make sure to condition and wash your hair. try to not straighten it every day, try to scrunch it with gel so no heat is applied. it will be really cute

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

use two conditioners, I recommend pantene restoratives no frizz and herbal essences moisture one and a moisturizing shampoo, never straighten hair when wet, also use a cream like frederic fekkai's glossing one and rub a bit on the ends, and your hair will be shiny and healthy, then if you must, straighten it

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

well i can only say that u should do ur hair differently if u straighten it everyday...just straighten it once a week or something- try ponytails, braids, wavy hair, whatever- just ease off the straightener for a while. maybe u can do a deep conditioning treatment if ur hair is getting nasty. i just blow dry mine and comb thru it with my fingers and it straightens so....thats my advice. heat damages ur hair.

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

stick to you're roots, i dream to find a girl who likes her hair hw it is

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

I have to straighten mine too, my hairdresser told me to make sure I use some kind of solution to keep it soft. She recommended Matrix smooth spray. It's in an orange bottle.

I'm I frying my hair by straightening too much?!?

THE WAY I DO IT:

Use hair oil, it helps so much! garnier FRUCITS sleek %26amp; shine works very well, repairs hair, and protects it! and it doesn't make your hair look all oily %26amp; stuff.

THE WAY THEY DO IT:

Now if you don't want to do that you can use special sprays or oil made to protect your hair especially for hair straightening ^^

A NEW WAY:

as for a whole new method; you can relax our hair. It costs about $10 for a great kit! what it does it makes your hair straight for a few months. I did it once and I was very satisfied!

MY WAY'S RESULT:

Here is a picture of me after using the Oil idea, %26amp; straightening it.

Can straightening irons make your hair fall out?

I straighten my hair very to two days. Can straightening to much cause hair to fall out because I always worry when Im straightening my fringe that its not very good for it.I use this protective spray before I straighten but does it really protect it from getting damaged?

Can straightening irons make your hair fall out?

Straightening your hair is just like when you brush your hair and all of your hair accumulates on your brush. Your not going to go bald from it! I straighten my hair everyday, and I blow dry my hair before I straighten it to help get the waves out, and I've been doing that since I was in middle school, and I'm going to be a Junior in high school already, so don't worry, your hair will be fine. Keep using your protective spray before you straighten, and you'll have nothing to worry about :D

Can straightening irons make your hair fall out?

if it gets too much heat

Can straightening irons make your hair fall out?

hmm im not sure.. i straighten mine often too. my hair seems to fall out alot sometimes when i wash it after straightening... it scares me!!....i think the protective products do help out a little. i wouldnt worry too much cuz i dont think it is all going to fall out at once lol.......

Can straightening irons make your hair fall out?

Your hair won't fall out (that happens at the root) but regular use of heat might eventually dry it and cause some breakage.

Definitely keep up with the protective product, use the iron on as low of heat as you can, and don't use it any more than necessary.

Every now and then you may want to give your hair a hot oil or some other deep/intense conditioning treatment to help restore and protect it.

Can straightening irons make your hair fall out?

thats VERRRY bad

you neeeed to stop

and viset a professionel salon

(not HAIR CUTTERy or some cheap place)

they can fix your hair

tell them your problem and they will deep condition to make it look real, not like plastic barbie hair

Can straightening irons make your hair fall out?

Staightening your hair dries it out unnaturally, and burns it partially. It weakens your hair so that it is more brittle, and it also increases frizz when your hair is un-straightened. Protective spray may help in some ways, but it cannot adress all problems stemming from straightening. If your hair is falling out at the rate of a few strands a day, it is totally normal, that is the follicle being replaced, however, up to 20 strands is definitely a dangerous sign.

Can straightening irons make your hair fall out?

yes i can depending on wat chemiacal or hair product u use on ur b4 ironing it check all labels b4 applying it to hair with

Can straightening irons make your hair fall out?

i know that straightening it too much will damage your hair.

Can straightening irons make your hair fall out?

yes it can. When i start using straighteners my hair start falling out, not alot. you should use some sort of oil or cream in your hair to protect it from the heat. Don't straighten it to much. I have curly hair but i don't really use them no more because i don't want more hair to fall out no matter what people say to me.

Eat load of food that have iron.

What can i put on my hair after straightening it to make it look smooth and silky?

I have this problem sometimes,too..I start by washing with the Sunsilk shampoo meant for dry hair (pink bottle)...I then use the Sunsilk conditioner but make sure to rinse your hair with cool/cold water...i then towel dry my hair and put on Panteine Frizz control (it comes in a pump bottle), i have medium length to long hair and i only use about a dime size because if you use too much it looks greasy...i then blow dry it as straight as possible...then i pull it into sections and straighten each section...after i'm done i apply Brilliant Brunette finishing creme (i'm brunette obviously, but if you're a blonde or redhead, i'm sure they make it for those colors, too), but like the frizz control don't use too much, it smells good, too, kinda like coconuts or suntan oil...hope that helps

What can i put on my hair after straightening it to make it look smooth and silky?

Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum is great!! Also try the shampoo and conditioner, or you can try Bed Head Small talk, you can use it before and after you blowdry...

Straightening Hair help!!?

I have naturally wavy hair and boy is it a mess if I get out of the shower and let it dry. I try and blow dry it then straighten it, but it doesn't work, even at the hottest temperature. Is there an easy way without spending that much money that I can straighten it good? I'm tired of wearing my hair up every day. If you could help I'd be so happy!

Straightening Hair help!!?

When you blow dry do you blow dry just to get it dry or to straighten it? When you blow dry your hair use a vent brush and comb your hair with the blow dryer next to the brush so you blow dry it straight own the hair shaft. Or to straighten it (if you have a straightener) put half (top half) of your hair and pin it on top of your head, then wait for the straightener to get very hot and take small sections to straighten. Its easier to do half of your head at one time, I think it goes faster too. Remember the smaller the section the straighter it will be, so don't put a whole chunk and expect the straightener to get each strand.

Straightening Hair help!!?

Hi,

I have the same the problem. I have went to hair salons and it still hasn't came out silky straight. But in the mall one day a lady used a cermamic straight iron. It worked really well. The cost of one can range from $50 to $200 or more. But, don't go for the costly one , they are just as good as the $50 to $75 ones.

Straightening Hair help!!?

just dont blow dry it let it air dry.

Straightening Hair help!!?

i got the same problem.there`s a product from loreal studio,i think it`s called hot n straight.it comes in a small pink bottle.what you do is:after washing your hair towel dry it.then take a walnut sized amount of the product and work it into our hair.then you blow dry it,after that you straighten it with the straightener iron.it`s best to get one where you can adjust the heat.too much heat will burn your hair.

i hope i could help.

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

If you do straighten your hair everyday how can you take care of it properly. Is there any kind of conditoners or shampoos to use? I got a CHI straightener, so i'm new to straightening. I really want to take care of my hair, i dont want to damage it alot. I also have the chi protecter spray but i dont know how to use it. Do you spray in your hands then rub in in you hair?

If you have anymore tips on straighening please share them!

And does anyone know where you can buy long clips to pin hair up when doing it?

thanks!

best answer to most informative answer! =)

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

Yes, it is damaging. It blisters your hair and creates split ends. The heat from the straightner takes the moisture out of your hair, creating the split ends. My salon told me to use Pantene Pro-V shampoo and conditioner, it helps deep condition your hair and keeps it in good shape. You spray the spray in your hair, all the way down your strands. A good way to straighten the back of your hair is have two mirrors against each other to look at the back.

If you get your hair trimmed every 4-8, your hair stays healthy no matter how much you straighten it, but it still damages your hair every time.

They have long clips at Wal-Mart in the section with shampoo and mirrors.

By the way, good straightner choice. Chi works well.

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

sadly yes, that is because the heat from the straightener damages and dries you hair out, making it more fragile and then u can get split ends easier and faster..sorry

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

yeah my older sister stratins her hair everyday now it is dead and some of her hair is falling out just bcuz she strtins her hair

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

YES IF TOO MUCH YEA

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

i try not to straighten my hair everyday because then it gets fried. before straightening, try spraying a heat protecting spray or cream. i have the l'oreal heat protection in the pink bottle. as for pinning hair up, get a huge clip and pin your hair in sections it works really well. idk what the chi protector spray is but if it is "spray" then you should spray it into your hair. not too close though. and i use pantene pro-v smooth and sleek. idk if it necessarily makes your hair straighter but it sure is smoother. and it smells good too. if you want professional help, ask your hair dresser the next time you get a hair cut on how to maintain healthy hair while straightening. these are just some things i do. hope this helps.

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

use a hair protecting spray, such as miracle mist or graham webb soft finish spray. these *help* protect your hair from damaging heat and also can activate conditioners to keep hair looking soft.

i full out straighten mine after i wash it, which is every few days. if you wash your hair that you straighten too much, it will wash out all the natural oils your hair has to keep it soft. just don't let it get greasy. i touch up my hair at least every morning.

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

The CHI hair straightner uses ceramic heating so it doesn't damage your hair

You can straighten your hair with it every day and just stick to your normal shampoo and conditiner, it doesn't matter

As for the protector, I'd just spray it straight on my hair

hope that helped ^^

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

YES! OF COURSE IT DAMAGES YOUR HAIR! ITS A HOT IRON ALL OVER YOUR HEAD EVERY SINGLE DAY! WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT? SO THAT MEANS YOU ARE ALSO WASHING YOUR HAIR EVERYDAY WHICH IS BAD TOO. WASH AND STRAIGHTEN IT ON THE WEEKEND AND LEAVE IT LIKE THAT M-F THEN ON SATURDAY OR SUNDAY YOU CAN WASH UYOUR HAIR AGAIN AND STRAIGHTEN IT! OR YOU COULD STRAIGHTEN IT ONLY 2 TIMES A WEEK AT THE MOST!

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

Yes it is bad becuase the heat weakens your hair and may cause it to fall . Trust me my hair was past my shoulders and now my hair is really short . When i finally went to my beautician she told me in order to get my hair to grow back i had to cut alot of the damaged hair out. Maybe you can straighten it every other day but that is still bad . At night wrap your hair with a silk wrap. As for the clips go to the beauty supply store.

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

I straightem my hair everyday i use a straightner thats heat resistant and has aloe in it also i deep condition my hair every couple of months you know where they put you under a heated dryer? It works great!

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

i straighten it mon.tue, thur and fri. on wed i leave it wavy.

i use the L'oreal Paris Studio straightening cream(appx $3.00)...

for best results, i....

[1] run the cream through my hair...dont apply at the roots though...

[2] blow dry the cream and use a brush to disentangle any messy hair

[3] then straighten it with the hair straightener

[4] style it then top it off with Tressemme Styling spray (appx $3.00)

[5] .......or if ur just going to leave it down, use the John Frieda Frizz-Ease hair serume (appx $6.00) and run it evenly through ur hair for texture and pretty glossy hair (avoid the roots)

*i dont think its bad to straighten hair everyday if u starighten it properly..

Is straightening your hair everyday bad?

Buy shampoos and conditioners for damaged hair. And condition your har every other day. As for the heat protector, spray it in dry hair, of course! Don't spray it on your hands. First turn your hair upside down and just about 3 sprits all over, and hten right side up and 3 more sprays. Then, use a regular clip (you don't have to use one of those smlall clips. I jsut use a regular clip for putting hair up. put your hair up, and leave some down. Then, again spray your hair just to make sure you got it all "protected." Spray after each time you let down a section of your hair.

Oh, and I'm probably gonig ot straighten my hair every other day. I'm just not gonig to wash it every other day, and when i wake up in hte morning, just a few touch-ups.

Straightening hair help???

Ok I have brown hair, it is about up to my shoulders, maybe a teensy bit longer. I have bangs. When I take a shower and dry it, it is perfectly straight and I love it (my hair s naturally straight). but then When I go to bed, and then get up in the morning, the ends curve inwards or outwards and it doesn't look all that great!!!

I don't have time to wash my hair in the morning, so I can't do that, and I don't wanna get a straightener cause it's too expensive. I spend like 20 minutes in the morning wetting it and combing it out, it's a total waste of time and even if I do that it still doesn't turn out like when I just washed it yesterday night. HELP?!?!?! Is there an easier, faster way of making my hair completely straight?

And PLEASE don't just say straighten it I said I don't have a straightener and I don't plan on getting one they're too expensive.

Straightening hair help???

Well if you dry your hair before you go to bed it may help. Or if you have a curling iron you could straiten the ends with it by just pulling it thru the hair like you would a straitener. Also look for products. Loreal makes a few that are cheap that you can put in to keep it straight some you could use just after you shower and some when its dry in the morning.

Straightening hair help???

blow dry it in the morning. It takes about five to ten minutes, use a round brush.

Straightening hair help???

they DO have cheap ones.. at target, it's like 15 bucks.. Thats NOT expensive.. thats the best way, or just wet the ends of your hair and blow dry it straight

Straightening hair help???

When I lived in Africa some women used a product called "No Friz" Try a search?

Straightening hair help???

if you spend 20 minutes wetting and combing your hair, you might as well spend that time washing it and getting it the way you like i!

Straightening hair help???

Honestly, I have the same problem and I use a hair straightener. You can get a cheap one at Wal-Mart for as little as 10 dollars.

Straightening hair help???

I found a straightener for 12.99 at a beauty supply store and it works great!

Straightening hair help???

the only thing i can tell you if you don't want to buy a $15 hair straightener from target or wal-mart, is to put product in your hair. Sunsilk and john frieda both sell products that you can put in before you blow dry that will keep your hair staright and sleek, but I would definately reccommend spending a few dollars to get the hair straightener. It only takes a few minutes to use it and it leaves your hair smooth and shiny. Good Luck!!

Straightening hair help???

If you MUST take a shower at night you have to realize woman toss and turn atleast 30 times when we sleep. So, of course it's going to look like crap. But only thing I suggest is either shower in the morning (you'll feel more refreshed anyway) Or wake up and blow dry. You're lucky b/c I have really curly hair and I have to straighten it for 2 hours b4 it looks they way I want. Don't sweat the small stuff like blow drying hun. :)

Straightening hair help???

They have chemicals that you can put in your hair to straighen it. Try putting your hair in a loose rubberband/hair tie when you go to bed. The answer before mine is good with the round brush. get a squirt bottle and wet it them blow dry again. Maybe hair spray. %26amp; I know you said no hair straightner tips but.. There are places where you can get a good one that is not too expensive like $20.(Sally's Beauty Supply) Or CVS usually have them on sale too less than $30.

Straightening hair help???

if i were u i would do the things i do in the morning at night instead of a shower and then ill have more time in the morning for a shower

Straightening hair help???

I know you don't want to get one, but a flat iron would be ideal. You should consider investing in one for these morning touch-ups. They really aren't that expensive.

Is Chemically Straightening Your Hair For Men Or Women Only??????????????

I HAVE KIND OF MEDIUM LENGTH HAIR.....BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT ITS REAL WAVY......I WAS WONDERING IF CHEMICALLY STRAIGHTENING YOUR HAIR OR RELAXING YOUR HAIR IS ONLY FOR WOMEN?? I DONT WANT TO GO IN THERE AND MAKE A FOOL OUT OF MYSELF. I DONT WANT TO CUT MY HAIR SHORT AND I CANT STRAIGHTEN IT WITH AN IRON B/C ITS TOO SHORT.

ALSO WHERE DO YOU GET THIS DONE?? EX LIKE WHAT HAIR PLACE?

Is Chemically Straightening Your Hair For Men Or Women Only??????????????

no, it can be for anyone, i've known of a few men who've gotten their hair relaxed simply because they like the way it looks. you can go to any hair salon to get it done.

Is Chemically Straightening Your Hair For Men Or Women Only??????????????

If you have money then they have the time:)

Is Chemically Straightening Your Hair For Men Or Women Only??????????????

It is for anyone who wants to get it done. The professionals will not be surprised by a guy coming in, and won't think anything of it. Most hair places do it except the cheap quickie places like Supercuts.

Is Chemically Straightening Your Hair For Men Or Women Only??????????????

hair is hair. It would work.

But.. its just wrong.

Straightening my hair help?

I hardly ever straighten my hair, but when i do i don't get the look i desire, my hair just looks frizzy and lifeless with no shine...even though i can get it straight. How comes? I use straightening cremes and protectors, so what is wrong with me? How comes other girls get their hair dead straight with a straightener and not me? My straightener is a babyliss one which is about 1-2 years old.

Straightening my hair help?

my hair gets frizzy too, but i either rub an ice cube over the frizziest pieces, or i use john frieda secret weapon frizz-ease

Straightening my hair help?

Have you tried blowing it out instead of straightening it with a flat iron? Put a smoothing/straightening serum in it while it's still wet (I love KMS or Bumble %26amp; Bumble; Kiehls makes a greasier one if you have thick/frizzy hair), then use a a heat-activted leave-in conditioner (like Thermasilk or Biolage) as you straighten it. Next time you get your hair cut, ask your stylist to show you how to blow it out. You need a big, round brush, and you work through it in sections, curling the hair under on the brush as you go around.

Straightening my hair help?

First of all your hair is dried out, from the chemicals. You need to really condition the hair, before you use another straightner. Also afterwards too and in between processes. Straightening the hair is harder on the hair than perming. You can also buy thoses products to use for frizzies, just don't use as much as they say. Good Luck!!!

Straightening my hair help?

ok you need a new iron. there is one i use called Magic Ionic. its a bit pricey but worth every penny! i've used it on the most curly frizzy hair and it came out not only stick straight, but sleek and shiny and it stayed that way overnight! trust me- you want this iron. also, you might want to try not washing your hair right before.

Straightening my hair help?

I had a similiar issue . I use Redken 5 hair straightneing balm and my Chi flatiron. Works like magic.

Problems with STRAIGHTENING hair?

I straighten my hair with a Nicky Clarke straightener. Though I find it difficult to straighten the right side seeing as I am right handed too. When I have straightened it %26amp; its perfect I go to school. The problem is around an hour later (most probably because of the harsh winds in Winter time) my hair goes all wavy and tangly again and it gets all these split ends. Its hard to explain.

What should I do? Isn't their a way to stop this? Any products/shampoos I can use? Normally when I brush my hair when it goes like that it gets a bit better, but I cant keep brushing my hair all day! Other girls in my school straighten their hair and they never get flyaway brittle hair! I know my hair isnt dry because it gets greasy quite quickly too! HELP!

Problems with STRAIGHTENING hair?

All good hair starts with a good shampoo, get a defrizzing shampoo or something that adds moisture so your hair doesnt tangle and get weird. chi makes a fatastic shampoo for that, as well as biolage.

then ..

I would try chi silk infusion or biosilk serum .. both of them work wonders and keep hair straight, silky, and smelling good. I have long hair too .. and these are the only products that actually do what they are supposed to. dont bother getting the cheap walmart knock offs if you want it to work. Also I would suggest using a finishing spray to get the stragglers any of which are fine.

Problems with STRAIGHTENING hair?

Get some Paul Mitchell Sticky Serum and put it in your hair before your straighten in - while it's still wet. Also, keep your ends trimmed to avoid the flyaways. Good luck!

Problems with STRAIGHTENING hair?

during the winter months especially if your hair is naturally wavy your hair will knot up due to slpit ends, and the use of the straightener. I suggest letting your hair natural during the winter with the use of salon quality products. If you still want to straighten your hair during the winter I also suggest that you do it with a round brush while you give yourself a blow out. Because straighteners are harsh to use all the time. if tou give yourself a blow out use good shine serum while it is still wet, and try and only use the flat iron on the ends or pieces that need it. Really poker straight hair is not really in anymore. Sexy full natural hair is in

Problems with STRAIGHTENING hair?

hummudity is your problem dear. It's because of the moisture in the air; and you can't help if the wind tangles your hair so you know why that happens(which I hate when that happens.... %26gt;=[ ) I suggest to use Garniea sleek, shine, sheer (or how ever you spell it) I'm serious it works, You really feel all the oils and stuff like it's just falling out of your hair.ANd It feels like you just came out of a salon. And that would help hummidity, next i would suggest when you strighten your hair do it in layers. And clip all the outher layers and when your done with one put another layer down, strighten... And take your time atleast a solid 6 seconds for each strand of hair. It helps and If it still happens go to your hair salon if it is still a problem It really helps they'll no exactly what to do. And you could get perscription shampoo like my sister does for her curly hair. Hope it makes a difference,

I think what you really need is conditioner. LOTS of conditionar. I know that if you are like me, my ends get dry, and my scalp is oily, so what I do is just condition the ends of my hair.

Wishing you healthy hair!

Straightening My hair too often? its already dry :(?

i like biolage or redken smooth, and after washing i put a smoothing serum on to protect and help smooth it down as well. i like the one from biolage. make sure and get a really good ceramic straightener (like $80 to $150) and you'll love your hair from morning till the next morning even!!

Girl, welcome to my world!!! I have the same exact problem but lately it has really improved, because ive started using the pantene pro-v aminoprotein shampoo %26amp; conditioner in one and after that i use the nioxin conditioner. it helps sooooo much, looks so much shinier, healthier, etc. u should try it. oh one more thing, DO NOT use the SO SEXY victoria's secret shampoo and conditioner that stuff will make ur hair fall out so bad, from my personal experience! lol. :)

Straightening My hair too often? its already dry :(?

Straightening My hair too often? its already dry :(?

it isnt always the shampoo that helps. it is also what type of straightener you use. you should try a wet to straight straightener they work really well. and they arent to pricy. also try using Aussie shampoos. or try VO5 VITA BURST!

Straightening My hair too often? its already dry :(?

well, look for the anti frizz or mosturizing shampoos and to somewhat prevent from damamaging your hair try to cut it every 2 -3 weeks

Straightening My hair too often? its already dry :(?

I know where you're coming from, I have the same problem. The fix... don't shampoo your hair (or even get it wet) everyday, do it every other day. And deep condition once every four to six weeks... I really can't stress this enough. It's great for over worked (colored, blow dried, flat ironed, etc.) hair. My personal favorite is Joico's line of at home DC called K-Pak... check them out at a salon near you. I use them religiously because I flat iron two or three times a week and color my hair. Best product ever, in my opinion.
